"Pair Of Gilt Bronze Candlesticks, Louis XVI Period "
Pair of large chased and gilded bronze torches, the fluted shaft resting on a broadly fluted base. The quality of the bronze and gilding decoration, in particular the torus with interlacing and pearl motifs and the water-leaf motif on the bobèches, suggest that they were created around 1780. Original washed gilding. Similar model in the Château de Versailles.
French Louis XVI period, late 18th century.
