"Well Bucket Late 18th Century - Early 18th Century"
Well Bucket - Late 18th - Early 19th Century" Well bucket in wrought iron and thick copper. It is mounted in a dovetail. Subject to intensive use, this bucket is reinforced at the bottom and top by a wrought iron hoop. The handle is also made of wrought iron. Placed on the kitchen water stone, water was drawn from it with a water bag or casse (ladle with a hollow handle) to drink at the feast or wash hands ... It is tinned, which tends to prove its use for food. Its condition is good considering its age and the use it has been made of. Note that the lower circle has been reattached with modern bolts (it is not riveted as originally). The upper circle is fixed with original copper rivets. No perforation. Height 25 cm, opening 30 cm, base 25 cm
