Rare and beautiful production from the middle of the 19th century, Napoleon III, this cornet vase in cut crystal, reddened and mounted on a bronze base resting on four feet, and tray with empty pocket handles of fine and remarkable chiseling, an originality for this double use of flowers and small objects in reserve. A beautiful and prodigious retouching for this native bronze with ornaments of fine jettés of flowers and foliage, borders of ivy leaves and cartouches animated by insects butterflies, dragonflies and birds in a luxuriant decoration, the generous handles on either side of the tray and the rich base just as well worked; the vase itself set in a support also worked and the cornet vase worked with the wheel of rosettes and bundles at the top scalloped in a beautiful white crystal lined with bright red (baked gold). This curiosity is a typical object of the privileged class Napoleon III; or many details were of quality for the ornamentation of furniture in a living room.
