Flora after Jean Baptiste Carpeaux in porcelain biscuit signed by the Sèvres factory and dated 1927. Jean Baptiste Carpeaux is one of the greatest French sculptors of the 19th century, Grand Prix de Rome in 1854, his works are preserved in the most prestigious museums in the world. It was in London in 1873 that he created the original in human size, inspired by an ancient statue, he gave Flora this crouching position and this face which will immediately seduce amateurs. The original work is kept at the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum in Lisbon. The Sèvre factory will edit a reduction of high quality equal to its productions.
