These candelabras feature a remarkably avant-garde design for their time, combining classical elegance and clean lines typical of the Dutch style of the first half of the 19th century. Each candelabra is designed with an ingenious transformation system: the light arms, three in number on each piece, are removable, allowing them to be used either as three-light candelabras or as single torches. The shafts rest on curved tripod bases, richly decorated, while the upper part is surmounted by a majestic, finely sculpted eagle, a symbol of power and nobility. The 934 thousandths silver (first title for the Netherlands) testifies to the exceptional quality of these pieces, and their impressive weight of 3.5 kg confirms their robustness. These candelabras represent a perfect illustration of Dutch silversmithing from the end of the Empire style, combining technical mastery and a sober but imposing aesthetic.
