Puzzle THE DEPARTMENTS IN ACTION circa 1861 - 1866Very beautiful and rare puzzle composed of 3 boards in gummed watercolor lithography representing all the French departments. The last department is Algeria containing 4 provinces. The presence of the departments of Savoy and Nice as well as those of Alsace and Lorraine allows us to date this puzzle between 1861 and 1871. The name of the publisher MATENET allows us to date it to 1866 at the latest. 40 x 47 cm. Beautiful original condition, the 3 boards are complete with all their pieces and in very good condition, the lid of the box presenting a superb gummed watercolor engraving has a stain at the top left.
