Born in Mâcon and died in Houdan, from a family of stonemasons. He was a student of Alexandre Falguière at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He exhibited at the Salon from 1900. Numerous monumental statues in architectural ornamentation, notably in his hometown of Macon. As a medalist, he created several commemorative medals after the world premiere and in 1931, a new type of coin, the Morlon type, with the effigy of Marianne wearing the Phrygian cap and surrounded by ears of wheat and oak leaves on the obverse, with horns of plenty on the reverse. This engraving was used for the 50 centime, one franc and two franc coins until 1959.
