Superb antique Regency style mirror dating from the 18th century. Its giltwood frame is adorned with an elegant pediment and a carved interior frame, richly decorated with Baroque motifs: acanthus leaves, floral bouquets surrounded by volutes, bunches of grapes, and shells at the corners. The interior surfaces feature a carved diamond pattern. This mirror embodies the transition between the end of the Louis XV style and the beginnings of the Regency style, where the declining Baroque rubs shoulders with the beginnings of Rococo.
