Directoire engraving, entitled "The Dance of the Croyables of Time Past", a satirical engraving relating to the French Revolution and the Croyables (poor) rather than the Incroyables (decadents). A young man plays music while seated, at his feet a loaf of bread and a fish and a man and a woman in revolutionary dress dance.
