Philippe Ledieu (1805-1850)
Born around 1805 in Quincy, he was a student of Horace Vernet and participated in the Paris Salon in 1931 and 1850. Living near Barbizon, he was known for his representations of dogs and horses, including the Frightened Mare and Foal in the Dijon Museum.
Achille Moreau
This artist, a student of Jazet, is one of the best engravers of the period 1825-1840. He exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1827 to 1833. His works are dated from 1825 to 1842 and include genre and topical subjects such as Allegory of the Coronation of Charles X or The Taking of the Tocadéro. He is also one of the engravers of the Napoleonic legend but also produced genre scenes after Vernet.
