Antique "lorraine" Biscuit Doll Head By Lanternier
Bisque socket head with slender facial modeling, elongated throat, blue glass inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, open-closed mouth with painted teeth.
Marked: J.E. Masson SC Lorraine No. 2 A.L. & Co Limoges.
Made by Lanternier, during WWI, this model was designed by the French artist Jules Edmond Masson (1871 – 1932).
This mold was destined to lady dolls in historical and traditional costumes distributed by "La Ligue du Jouet" under the leadership of Mme la Baronne de Laumont. A complete doll with an unbreakable head sold by "La Ligue du Jouet" is offered in our shop.
