"Rare Wax Bottle Stopper Believed To Represent Ballet Celebrity Nijinsky"
This unusual wax bottle stopper was made during WWI, or shortly after, by a French atelier in the Laffitte-Desirat manner. This refined decorative and utilitarian item has been preserved in good condition and well reflects the attitudes and the ethereal beauty of ballet star Vaslav Nijinsky, who performed in Paris under Diaghilev’s direction for the Ballet Russes legendary performances.
There is a minor wear on its nose.
The turban is made of silk (some wear at the back) and gilded trim and decorated with a rhinestone.
