Object description :

"Studies For "the Young Mozart" From 1867. Eugène Ernest Hillemacher (1818-1887)"
Three studies: two violinists and a cellist with a beautiful study of hands with a bow on the back. These three studies can be found in the painting that went on sale in Austria on 30/11/2005 and sold for 32,000 euros at the hammer: "Homage to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1867)". This is the painting exhibited in 1867 at the Paris Salon at the Palais des Champs-Elysées under number 752 entitled "The Young Mozart". The booklet completes the title: "The mass that Wolfgang had performed and conducted himself on December 7, in the presence of the entire Court, in the new church of Father Parhammer's orphanage, mended what his enemies had ruined by preventing him from performing his opera, and convinced the Court and the public who had flocked to it in crowds of the wickedness of our opponents..... (Letter from Leopold Mozart, Vienna, December 14, 1768)" The differences lie in the hairstyles used in the 18th century for the painting, but the attitudes of the musicians are the same, they must have been taken from life on musicians of the 1860s. Stamp of the signature on all three, perhaps for his studio sale after death on May 7, 1887 at the Hotel Drouot. Eugène-Ernest Hillemacher is a French painter, born in Paris on October 13 1818 and died in the same city on March 3, 1887. Portraitist and painter of history and genre, Hillemacher belongs to the so-called academic painting movement, between the July Monarchy, the Second Empire and the Third Republic.WIKIPEDIA: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugène-Ernest_HillemacherNote that the two sons of E. Hillemacher were music composers so the world of music and musicians is not foreign to him.Dimensions: each drawing 29x20 cmperiod oak frame 44x79 cmShipping France and international
