Abstract Geometric Composition with Female Silhouette – circa 1970
Medium: Gouache on canvas mounted on cardboard
Dimensions: H 65 cm x W 54 cm
The composition is built from simplified geometric forms and sharply defined color fields, in a language close to geometric abstraction. Upon closer observation, a stylized female figure emerges: a profile with hair tied in a bun, a flowing line suggesting a torso, and a pleated skirt. The piece balances formal structure with decorative sensitivity, echoing the graphic aesthetic of the 1970s and early 20th-century French artistic experimentation.
Condition: Excellent
The painting comes from the south of France, in Provence. It was found inside a forgotten folder containing other works—unsigned, yet clearly executed by the same hand. On the back is the stamp of a fine art supply manufacturer, indicating the format “15F” (65 × 54 cm).
