"Dart Defense System Cane - "stiletto" - Damask Reinforced Bamboo Shaft "
A variation on the Basque "Makila" theme, here is a defense cane called "Stiletto" with the dagger that is released by unscrewing the damascened bronze handle ending in a flat pebble. You will also find at the bottom the steel ferrule dressed with a damascened decoration. Its shaft is made of bamboo reinforced with an iron rod. The "Damascened" technique is a Spanish specialty and the Makila is a cane of Basque origin, so it is more than likely that we are here in the presence of a Spanish cane from the 19th century.
