A typical subject for our artist and very nicely treated, this bustling market scene in Brittany will seduce you. In the background we can see a church, possibly the Church of Saint-Malo in Dinan (Côtes-d'Armor). Engraving, original aquatint in colors enhanced with watercolor signed in pencil in the plate by the artist at the bottom right. High quality and very well referenced proof: - numbered 24 towards the left, published by Hautecoeur et Cie Rue de Rivoli in Paris in 1929. The copyright appears in the left margin in the upper part, - embossed dry stamp of the Cercle de la Librairie Estampes HTK affixed in the lower left margin. Never dismantled, it is enhanced by its beautiful original gilded wooden frame. Label on the back from a Dinan framer. Dimensions: 39 cm x 52 cm visible 54.5 cm x 69.5 cm with its frame The whole is in very good condition. Minor age marks and marginal foxing.
