Boldly, he broke advertising codes in 1963 with "The Woman with the Rose," a landmark advertisement. An art lover, he began collecting the great Impressionist masters in the 1950s, as well as Modernists and the School of Paris. Eclectic and personal, his collection is a vibrant tribute to 20th-century painting. He acquired the gemmail "Guitar" in 1960 from Roger Malherbe Navarre.
