1905 Miniature On Ivory Portrait Of A Child Signed Antonine Oderieu (1857-1908)

Protected by its convex glass, this miniature on ivory bears the signature on one right side but it is a little hidden by the edge of its gilt bronze frame. In addition, two sides of this miniature have been slightly planed, probably to allow the work to be correctly inserted into its frame. The latter is round, "topped" with a crown of acanthus leaves and its rod has a decoration of rays of hearts and a pearled edge. Antonine Oderieu was a miniaturist of the second half of the 19th century and she died in 1908 at the age of 51, she was a member of the Société des Artistes Françaises.
