Object description :

"Large Early 19th Century Georgian Leather Camphor Wood Traveling Trunk"
This attractive large early 19th-century Georgian camphor wood military traveling trunk or chest is a remarkable piece. Covered in beautifully studded leather and reinforced with brass bindings, it features paneled brass studding and two sturdy carrying handles. Both the leather and brass fittings are in good condition, while the interior of the chest retains the delightful aromatic scent of camphor wood, remaining in its original order. Dating from circa 1810, this trunk is a fantastic example of its kind and is in lovely condition, showing the right amount of patina for its age. This versatile piece would make an excellent coffee table or serve as blanket storage at the foot of the bed, adding both functionality and character to any space.
