Austrian founder who became an important figure in sculpture in the 19th century. He inherited his father's foundry. Franz Xavier knew how to deploy it, initially producing bronzes using models designed by his father. Little by little, he took into account trends and renewed his team of sculptors in order to create pieces in the Art Nouveau movement. He then developed the technique of cold painting, also called dust painting. The foundry's activity was interrupted during the Great Depression, and Franz Xavier's son reopened it for a while afterwards.
