Object description :

"Namur 1831-1837, Jean-baptiste II Fallon, Two Salt Cellars And A Charles X Mustard Pot"
Rare set of salt shakers and their mustard pot in solid silver and colorless crystal from the Restoration period in perfect condition. The hallmarks present on each piece are those of the Namur guarantee office and of the master goldsmith Jean-Baptiste II Fallon who already worked under the old regime and was the representative of the second generation of this long dynasty of Namur goldsmiths which began at the dawn of the eighteenth century and lasted until the middle of the twentieth century. The crystals mounted on the silver bases are original and moreover intact. They most likely come from the local Zoude crystal factory in Namur, the oldest crystal factory in the southern Netherlands founded by Sébastien Zoude near the Porte de la Gravière in 1753. This beautiful set thus brings together the formidable know-how of two great dynasties of Namur craftsmen and entrepreneurs .....
