Mathurin Janssaud (1857-1940) was a French post-impressionist painter, a member of the Concarneau group. Settled in Brittany before 1914, he specialized in scenes of ports and rural life, mainly done in watercolor and pastel. He favored realistic and luminous representations of Breton daily life. His works are notably featured in the Musée d'Orsay (Sunset in a Breton Port) and the Musée du Faouët. Some pastels can also be seen at the Musée de Pont-Aven. Pastel with many pits, plan for restoration if possible. Modern frame under glass. Dimensions without frame: 35 / 27 cm
