Dutch marquetry chest of drawers. 18th century.

Chest of drawers with four drawers at the front with a key lock and two handles on each of them, decorated with marquetry applications (on the sides, front and top panel) with a plant theme. The top panel and front have a series of forward curves and, in the lower part of the piece, downward projecting elements give more movement (note the marquetry details present here too). From a stylistic point of view, we can appreciate elements common to 18th-century European Rococo furniture (forward movement, curves and counter-curves, etc.) as well as elements common to the Dutch school (note especially the patterns and colors used in the marquetry decoration). - D
