"Portrait Of A Man From The Restoration Period "
Beautiful portrait of a man dated 1838 by the painter Jean-François Boisselet, a student of Louis Hersent. He exhibited at the salons of 1834 and 1850. He is buried in the Montparnasse cemetery. The person portrayed is unknown. With his long hair, his clothes fashionable at the time of the Restoration and his intense and dreamy gaze, he embodies in some way the romantic man of those years. He could be part of Georges Sand's circle.....The oil on canvas is in very good condition. Its frame is also from the same period.
