Pair Of Art Deco Bookends
Very beautiful pair of Art Deco bookends representing a seated woman with folded legs resting on her arms. Made of cracked ceramic, the woman wears a 1920s hairstyle and rests on a plum-colored base.
The artist is Fernand Charles Gaston Guignier, son of an engraver, born in 1902 in Montpellier, was a student of the Beaux-Arts and participated sixteen times at the Salon des artistes français as a sculptor. He was very active in Montmartre and also made many sketches and paintings of Paris, where he died in 1980.
