"Louis VI Period Gold Snuffbox, Master Goldsmith Philippe Bourlier"
Oval-shaped snuffbox with guilloche decoration of rice grains in gold of several tones (green, yellow). The hinged lid is decorated with a central medallion representing a trophy with bow, quiver and arrow on a matte gold background, symbolizing Love. The medallion is framed by stylized laurel friezes and fine guilloché work. The border of the lid is decorated with a green gold laurel frieze alternating with rose gold flowers. The body is composed of four guilloché panels decorated with antique garlands. A frieze of interlacing highlights the body. Work from the Louis XVI period. Wear to the guilloché work.
