Received master of surgery in 1718, Francois Quesnay (1694-1774) was perpetual secretary of the Royal Academy of Surgery and followed Louis XV in the campaign of 1744. He wrote here an important book defending the independence of surgeons against the supervision of doctors. Copy with bookplate of P Derocque, Rouen surgeon, great friend of Charles Nicolle. After his death, his library of old books on medicine was sold at auction at the Rouen auction house on June 14, 1934.
