"Bone Statuette, Saint Veronica, Late 18th Century. France."

Interesting bone statuette, representing St. Veronica, holding the veil with the image of the face of Christ. Smiling face, halo-crown on the head, the dress falling on the feet with folds as well as on the sides, the Saint being placed on a small base which is part of the sculpture, the whole fixed on a bone plaque also. Very good condition, except for the head which has been glued back, which is not visible from the front. Beautiful object of piety, which is not often seen. France.
