Algerian short moukhala rifle with Damascus barrel - Algeria, dated 1855 Functional miquelet lock. Wooden stock richly decorated with silver and ivory inlays. Superb Ottoman Damascus steel barrel, silver inlaid. Under the lock, probably the maker's mark and the date 1272 (in Arabic numerals) of the Hegira calendar (1855 of the Gregorian calendar). Missing ramrod. The trigger is a late replacement. Damage to the ivory of the butt plate. Length 120cm Barrel length 83cm Muzzle diameter 18mm Weight approximately 3360gr
