Beautiful miniature on ivory representing Louis-Jean-Marie de Bourbon (of the Duke of Penthièvre, born in 1725 and died in 1793).
Grand Admiral of France in survivorship of his father, Louis-Alexandre de Bourbon.
Also Governor of Brittany and Guyenne.
Knight of the orders of the Holy Spirit, of Saint Louis and of the Golden Fleece.
Died in his bed in his castle of Bizy, protected by the villagers of the Terror.

Grandson of King Louis XIV and his mistress Madame de Montespan, son of the Count of Toulouse and Anne-Sophie de Noailles. He was Duke of Penthièvre, Duke of Rambouillet, Duke of Aumale and Gisors, of Châteauvillain, of Arc-en-Barrois and of Amboise.
He was Count of Dreux and of Eu.
Amassing an immense fortune, he was the richest man of his time and a great landowner.
