Pair of porcelain Fo lions, made in China during the 20th century. Emblematic representations of Chinese imperial tradition, these lions, also called "Fo dogs," were historically placed at the entrances of palaces and temples to protect sacred places. Measuring 30cm in height, these pieces impose themselves by their presence and the finesse of their craftsmanship. These two sculptures feature remarkable porcelain work, revealing the finesse of the features and symmetry. The male and female in traditional posture respectively embody power and the protection of the home.
