Very beautiful bronze representing Apollo. Very beautiful carving and very beautiful patina. Period 19th century. Height 38cm Perfect condition. This bronze of Apollo of the Belvedere was edited after a marble exhibited in the Vatican Museum. This marble measures 2.24m in height and dates from the 2nd century AD. This marble is itself a copy executed after a bronze original, usually attributed to Leochares, a Greek sculptor from the second half of the 4th century BC. This sculpture represents the Greek god Apollo walking, holding in his hand what was probably a bow.
