Italic art, 2nd-1st century BC White and brown banded agate,
7 x 10 mm.
The quadriga (chariot drawn by four horses) is an emblem of triumph.

Interesting variety of agate. Very beautiful intaglio coming from an old collection.

Very small chips on the edge of the stone without affecting the engraving.

Provenance:
Old private collection (19th?) with strong gilded and sealed paper rim (ink rating: 2200).
