Silver boat. Spain, 17th century.
It is a forged container whose base and the finials of the lid were obtained by casting. In the shape of a symmetrical boat, it rests on a low circular base, with a disc-shaped base and a short stem with a central lens. The body is decorated by chiseling, with oval cartouches flanked by braces and crowned with diamonds and half-moons, located on the four axes and on a shaded dotted background that continues at the mouth. The lid has the same chiseled motif. At the rear end there is an acanthus leaf-shaped finial, in relief, and at the front end there is a handle in the shape of a bandaged pillar. The lid of the bow opens thanks to a central hinge. The piece has partial punch marks on the lid and body.
