Blown Stemmed Glass From La Margeride - 18th Century Glassware Collection
Small stemmed glass from Margeride – Royal Glass Factory of Védrines-Saint-Loup (1769-1792)
Charming small stemmed glass from the royal glass factory of Védrines-Saint-Loup, founded in 1769 in the heart of the Margeride massif, at the crossroads of Lozère, Cantal and Haute-Loire.
This glassworks, active until 1792, produced drinking glasses, chalices and serving accessories.
This glass is a testament to the artisanal know-how of the time, marked by the chemical particularities of this production. It has a slight “crizzling”, characteristic of these pieces, with a subtly pinkish tint and fine micro-cracks on the surface, due to dosage errors in the composition of the glass.

Diameter of the foot: 5.2 cm
Diameter of the cup: 3.9 cm
State : Good general condition, with a small discreet tear on the foot (see photos).
A beautiful piece to enrich a collection of Margeride glassware and bear witness to the history of this ephemeral but emblematic manufacture.
