Mythological scene with the Greek word "karilaos" (pseudo-signature) showing a young man standing in front of a chariot pulled by a monster with a serpent's body, feathered wings and two heads, on which another male figure is depicted. Triptolemus was a demigod and hero of Greek mythology who was depicted as a young man with a diadem on his head, with his winged chariot pulled by dragons or serpents. These pieces were created in large numbers because they were highly prized as souvenirs by travelers on the Grand Tour. -
