Alfred Jean Foretay is a Swiss sculptor and painter born in Morges in 1861 and died in Geneva in 1944.
He first studied in Paris at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in the sculpture section of Alexandre Falguière and then exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris.
At the end of his life he created works for the Municipality of Geneva where he died.
