"Cross Of Mount Athos, Greece 18th Century"
Mount Athos blessing cross, double-sided, in carved wood, with a silver mount decorated with fine pearls and glass beads imitating emerald.The cross, in carved fruit wood, presents scenes from the life of Jesus: on one side, the Crucifixion, the Annunciation and the Presentation of Christ in the Temple; on the reverse, the Baptism, the Trinity of the Old Testament, Pentecost and the four Evangelists.
Presented in its original leather case, in shape, in condition, with some defects and the lack of a clasp.
Greece, 18th century.
The base possibly from the 19th century.
