Old taxidermy, that's obvious... The animal was stuffed, it's been a long time since it polished its fur. Is it a marten or a ferret, ... I don't know, the few tufts that remain on the tail don't enlighten me... The previous curiosity enthusiast fixed it under a glass globe that preserves it well, but I would tend to find a more elegant tabernacle for it. This specimen, not ordinary, to say the least, seems mummified in the attitude of a wild animal, as was customary to show them in the 19th century. So, if you still have a little space in your cabinet of curiosities, it's itching to be there (if it's a marten)... or it's itching to be there if it's a ferret...
