Francesco Brunery (or bruneri), was born in Turin (Italy) in 1849 and died in 1926. He was a student of masters like Gerome and Bonnat. This oil on panel shows a young man in a suit who enjoys a mouse trapped. The panel includes the back, hollow, the brand of a manufacturer of signs, in Rome.
