Born in Toulouse, Gilbert Privat, winner of the Prix de Rome in 1921, is above all a sculptor with a diverse body of work.
He magnifies the female body in the art deco aesthetic of his time, creates monumental works for public commissions but also religious works, and tackles all materials: here stone, to produce a double sculpture, marked by primitivism.
