Beautiful Gilded Blown Glass Goblet, Late 18th Century, In Case
Pretty flat-bottomed goblet, slightly truncated, blown glass and cut on sides, gold decoration engraved with needle istyle Louis XVI of a woman in gardens. Its sheepskin case, which holds it perfectly, and its chamois interior have protected it well.
A fine 200 years old travel glass, light and thin, good capacity. Louis XVI or Directoire period, as found on period on galleries of Palais Royal.
Height: 10cm x 8.5cm.
Good condition for glass, some wear on gilding, on sides… Case was in a condition difficult to show, we re-waxed it and partly glued it back together, it is quite clean for its age, but fragile…
