"Regency Period Pediment With Parclose, In Gilded Wood"
Regency period pediment with glazing beads, in gilded wood. This large and very decorative pediment that can form a door top is an old mirror top, dating from the Regency period, it offers us a symmetrical distribution with beautiful work of fine glazing beads cutting the glass, the woods are nicely carved with flowers and rosettes, beautiful protruding scrolls starting in a flower bud, in "C" shapes, a large shell on a sandblasted background and with crosspiece patterns, topped with an acanthus palmette crowns the whole, military attributes are also present on this pediment with flags and quivers distributed on either side. On an original softwood frame, the carved elements are in application, the gilding is later, it must date from the end of the 19th century, beginning of the 20th century, a label on the back indicates the workshop that carried out the restoration.
