Monoxyl Folk Art Frame
Genuine cabinetmaker's work for this frame made from a single piece of 19th century wood (maybe older?...) Beautiful decoration of foliage in high relief surrounding the outer edge, coat of arms in the upper part with engraved initials: A P. Foliage carved in low relief in spandrels and bordering the inner frieze of the frame. Two cracks to note on the back and barely visible on the front, good solidity of the whole. Dimensions available in the rebate: approximately 13.7 cm X 8.1 cm. Dimensions on sight: approximately 11.6 cm X 6.1 cm. Note: a technical feat to create such lively and deep sculptures (thickness of the wood approximately 2.5 cm) in oak wood renowned for its hardness. Beautiful patina with dark brown-auburn highlights. Delivery: €10 for mainland France.
