Beautiful bronze proof by Adrien Antoine Gaudez (1845-1902) representing a young woman with long braids, plucking a daisy, title of the work, stipulated on the cartouche "MARGUERITE by A. GAUDEZ Hors concours" This bronze rests on a round terrace, which itself rests on a recent limestone base. This bronze with a nuanced brown patina is enhanced with a golden patina on the belt and on the drapery of the young woman's dress. Much grace and finesse in the treatment of this subject which reveals all the talent of the sculptor, student in 1862, at the Beaux Arts in Paris, of François Jouffroy (Grand Prix de Rome) Recognized in his time Adrien A. Gaudez obtained a 3rd class medal and a 1st class medal at the Salon of 1864.
