Pair of carved wooden candlesticks from the Louis XIV period in Saint Lucia wood from Sampigny in Lorraine, the place where this wood was produced, near Nancy, originally toilet candlesticks, these candlesticks are topped with their bobeches, their stems are screwed onto the octagonal bases and the hollow decorations are mainly composed of small flowers, foliage and scrolls like those found on the boxes and caskets that these Nancy workshops had made a specialty of at the time (end of the 17th and beginning of the 18th century).
