Reliquary Box, Paperolles, Diorama, Reliquary, Virgin
Sacred or religious art, paperolles call some to meditation and prayer, they move others with their beauty.
Heart-shaped, made of boiled cardboard, the interior and the perimeter are covered with a coral red silk fabric.
An overflowing trimming frame surrounds the heart. A window is set with a thin cotton cord. Inside, a virgin with joined hands stands on a cloud.
She is surrounded by paperolles, orange and gold in color, in the shape of ears of wheat and bunches of grapes. A strip of paper forming tight undulations surrounds the inside of the heart. Several names of saints on strips remain illegible except for Saint Celestine. On the back, a sewn cardboard covers the whole. A cord allows hanging.
Note: The unusual heart shape of the box.
Used condition, the whole remains however very acceptable.
