Sarreguemines, Tobacco Pot, Cairo Donkey, Majolica
Uncommon tobacco pot, called in Sarreguemines "L'Âne du Caire".
This object in two parts is made of majolica, fine earthenware covered with glazes colored by metallic oxides.
This tobacco pot, more than a century old, shows some marks of time on its lid, the glued head and two chips, one of which has been clumsily restored. Note a slight original firing crack in the donkey's tail.
