François-Marius BORREL (1866, Paris – 1937) The Dancer in an Interior Oil on panel monogrammed lower right Dimensions: 26.5 x 35 cm No frame, slightly curved wooden panel, irregularity of the panel around the edge. François-Marius BORREL was a student of Jean-Léon Gérôme. He exhibited in the 1880s as an engraver but he produced a few oils including a very beautiful painting of the construction of the Sacré Coeur in Montmartre kept at the Carnavalet Museum.
