Small Louis XV rocaille style alcove wall light in chased and gilded bronze with an eventful shape, decorated with falling foliage and a bouquet of symmetrical flowers. A circular domed glass bezel with a pull opening on the right protects a very soft white enamel dial signed by Boucheret in Paris; on the periphery the black hours are finely painted in elongated Roman numerals and the minutes in Arabic numerals. The hands are finely openworked and gilded. Circular mechanism with pegged plate signed Boucherette in Paris, notched count wheel, hammer and gong are present but the mechanism is from the second half of the 19th century. Boucheret, master watchmaker in Paris officiating in the cloister of Saint-Denis de la Chatre in Paris , appears on page 70 of Tardy's dictionary of French watchmakers.
